In a new puff piece for the New York Times, Scott Rudin declines to dive deep into his misdeeds, saying “I’m not attempting to create a menu of miscreant behavior.” Enter Stage Left Report.
Not that it makes the re-sanctification any better, but if anybody thinks he actually left, they have another thing coming. The name of the guy who fronted for him on projects he formerly had on his wish list (such as Audra's "Gypsy") is practically an open secret.
So true-- I include two quotes above in response to the claim that he ever left the theatre industry at all, including his involvement from Little Island from its inception, the ongoing To Kill A Mockingbird saga, Audra's Gypsy as you said, among others. I think that makes this attempt to launder his public reputation especially egregious, when both his pocketbooks and reputation among his elite funders/collaborators have not changed at all. Thanks for adding some context.
